PURPOSE

The purpose of the music major, which accepts students to master's and proficiency in art programs; Our aim is to train art scientists who are equipped with professional skills, aware of changes and developments, and embrace the importance of lifelong learning, and are “performer-composer-researcher and educator” in four basic areas of music.

GOAL

The program aims to educate interpreters, composers, performers and researchers regardless of genre, to raise high-qualified individuals in the field of music, musicology and performing arts in order to increase the aesthetic values of the society and contribute to the cultural life, and to organize national and international events as qualified artist-scientist subordinates of the music department. aims to strengthen its structure.

ACCEPTANCE AND REGISTRATION CONDITIONS

Those who fulfil the conditions determined by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Education-Training and Examination Regulations can apply for these exams.

NEXT LEVEL OF WORK

Students who complete their master's education can transfer to proficiency in art and doctoral programs, while students who complete proficiency in art education can go abroad for post-doctoral education.

GRADUATION CONDITIONS

Candidates who fulfil the conditions determined by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Education-Training and Examination Regulations graduate from master's and proficiency in arts programs.

HISTORY

From the 2021-2022 academic year, students are admitted to the music major, which has started to admit students to the master's degree program and from the 2023-2024 academic year, without making any division and branch distinction. Music Department; prefers young science and art people who are interested in music science and aim for academic and artistic development.

EMPLOYMENT OF GRADUATES

Our graduates can be academicians in institutions that provide vocational music education, as well as work as artists and art educators in public or private art institutions and communities.

EXAM ASSESSMENT RULES

Each student must attend classes, projects, seminars, graduation projects and other studies of the semester in which they are enrolled. Each student must fulfil the conditions determined in Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Education-Training and Examination Regulations. The exams are written and applied. Provided that the instructor of the course states it in the course information form, he/she can do the exams, projects, and assignments orally. Exams are held and organized by the lecturers.

The program enables the students of the Music Department to train artists, art educators and researchers in the field of music who are interested in education, performance, research, equipped with communication and professional skills, aware of changes and developments, and embrace the importance of lifelong learning.

Students who receive education at the master's level of institutions that provide vocational music education are accepted for proficiency in art education.
