Prof. Dr Ugur TÜRKMEN

Education

He was born in Kütahya in 1971. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Kütahya. He graduated from Uludağ University Education Faculty Music Teaching Department in 1993. He completed his "Science Specialization" from Selçuk University in 1996 and his doctorate in Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Music Department in 2005. He started to work as an assistant professor at Afyon Kocatepe University State Conservatory in 2006. He became Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2017.

Work Life

He started to work as a lecturer at Niğde University in 1993. He resigned from his position at the university in 2000. He was appointed as a teacher in Kütahya in 2001 and started to work at Anadolu Fine Arts High School. He started to work in Afyon Kocatepe University State Conservatory Music Department in 2006. In 2021, he transferred to Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University State Conservatory. Turkmen is married and has three children.

Harmony-Counterpoint, Research Methods, Solfeggio, Theory-Solfege Pedagogy, Systematic Musicology Studies, Social Psychology and Music, Polyphony Practices in Turkish Music.

Publications

He published papers in national and international scientific meetings in the fields of music education and musicology, articles in professional and peer-reviewed journals, and books in the fields of "musicology, music education, chamber music-orchestra, children's songs".

Assoc. Prof. Bahadır Çokamay

Education

He was born in Balıkesir in 1981. He completed her primary and secondary education in Balıkesir and his high school education in Ankara at the Band Schools Command. In 2004, he graduated from Trakya University State Conservatory, Horn Art, which is the main art branch of Wind and Percussion Instruments. He graduated from Trakya University Social Sciences Institute Music Department Master's program in 2013. He graduated from the Proficiency in Art program at the same school in 2016. In 2016, he entered Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute Music Department to evaluate his studies in composition. In addition, since 2019, he has been continuing his conducting education in Hacettepe University Fine Arts Institute Orchestra Conducting Main Art branch.

Work Life

He worked in Edirne between 1999-2003, in Uzunköprü between 2003-2006, in military music institutions in Tekirdağ/Çorlu between 2014-2017, in Ankara Harmony Music Command between 2007-2008 and in 2009-2014. He worked as a performer and lecturer in Ankara Band Schools Command. In 2018, he was appointed as a Dr Lecturer to the Music Department of Düzce University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. Cokamay, who has been working at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University State Conservatory Music Department since 2020, is married and has three children.

He has published papers in national and international scientific meetings in the fields of Music Theories, musicology and instruments, articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and books in the field of music theories. Many compositions and arrangements have been performed in the national and international arena, and he has also been awarded an award.

He has participated in many concerts as a performer and conductor with symphony and chamber orchestras, band, and chamber ensembles.

Lecturer Barış Karabulut

Education

He was born in 1981. He started his violin education in 1991 at the Trakya University State Conservatory with Prof. Nuri İyicil. During his education at various conservatories, he had the opportunity to work with many educators. In 2005, he graduated from Prof Nuri İyicil's violin class at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory. She participated in the masterclasses of Dmitry Sitkovetsky in Leipzig, Germany in 2005 and Sarah Kapustin in the Netherlands in 2007. He completed his master's degree at Yıldız Technical University in 2010 under the supervision of Associate Professor Eylem Arıca. In 2019, he started her studies of proficiency in art in the field of Music at Trakya University. He continues his thesis studies with Prof. Ahmet Hamdi Zafer in this institution.

Work Life

As a violinist, he gave concerts within the scope of many projects and festivals realized in Turkey and abroad. He worked in Bakırköy Municipality Chamber Orchesta between 2002-2009. He was accepted to Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University State Conservatory in 2010 as a lecturer. Within the scope of the rotation masterclasses within the scope of the CAKA project founded by Cihat Aşkın, he gave violin lessons in İzmir, Manisa and Afyonkarahisar branches in 2017-2018.

She was born in Çanakkale in 1973. She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Çanakkale. In 1993, she started to work as a civil servant at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Personnel Department. She graduated from Anadolu University Open Education Faculty Public Relations Associate Degree program in 1998, and Anadolu University Faculty of Economics Department of Economics in 2008. In 2010, she was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the State Conservatory School. She was appointed as the State Conservatory School Secretary in 2011. Figen KARAKAYA, who is still carrying out this duty, is married and has a child.
